Trees are valuable assets providing structure on the landscape, habitat for wildlife and improved air quality and shade. They add character and colour to our countryside, streets and gardens, as well as financial and amenity value to properties.

I have 10+ years industry experience and the relevant NPTC qualifications. I hold £5m public liability insurance. I am a member of the Arboriculture Association.

This impressive Elm (estimated 200yrs+) had finally succumbed to Dutch Elm Disease after surviving the epidemic for 50 yrs. Not the best lighting but it was a really beautiful specimen. A sad day. Stem stayed standing to provide some habitat at least. #arblife #treework

Celebration of Hawthorn

- 5th June 2023

Wow what a spectacular year for Hawthorn flowers! I have never seen such a great display up and down the country, that lasted for so long. It got me thinking about Hawthorn and what a fantastic tree it is, for so many reasons. I think perhaps the humble Hawthorn is a bit underappreciated.

 

Bird nesting season

We are in the middle of bird nesting season and it is fascinating and a joy to watch the local birds courting, fighting, gathering material, building nests, and coming and going with food for the chicks.

After topping out an ash tree I discovered the stem was hollow and full of honeycomb! Oops.

Ash Dieback - do we really need to cut them down

Ash dieback (hymenoscyphus fraxineus) is a disease which has spread through Europe and into the UK sadly killing most of our ash trees.
